About this Session

*New Session 2023!*

Would you rather serve or be served?

Troy Braunstein, our Dean for this session, is serious about teens finding their calling in service and ministry. That is why he agreed this year to lead a session entirely focused to serving others.

Campers at SHS! will spend each day at a new location, supporting a different ministry via service projects. Campers will be doing service projects with the following ministries:

This week of camp will allow campers to experience several different types of service work, with each day acting as a "mini mission trip". Here are some kinds of work campers can expect:

  • Sorting clothes to be shipped, both domestically and globally, to meet local and international clothing needs.

  • Supplies cleanup and organization so a ministry can function more efficiently.

  • Potentially a construction/painting project.

  • And more - come flexible and ready to serve where needed!

SHS! campers will stay in the camp dorms in the evening.

This is an excellent camp session for hands-on campers that enjoy service work or who are interested in missions.

Well, what do you think? Would you rather serve or be served? If the answer is serve, register today.

About Your Dean: Troy Braunstein

Troy Braunstein is the Family Life Minister at Fairview Christian Church in Bracken County. He is married to Emily and has two children: Eira and Lincoln.

Troy has been working with Camp Northward for 18 years now! Almost all of that work has been with our Senior High campers. He is also a current camp Trustee. Troy is passionate about service and mission work. His favorite verse, 1 John 3:18, goes hand in hand with that passion:

"Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth."
